Laura San Giacomo

San Giacomo's first television appearances were three episodes in three TV series in 1987. Two of the most memorable appearances were in Crime Story in 1988 for the episode "Protected Witness" (Season 2 / Episode 13) as the character Theresa Farrantino as well as in Miami Vice in 1989 for the episode "Leap of Faith" (Season 5 Episode 21) as Tania Lewis. Cameron Dye, her husband was also in the Miami Vice episode. This was one year before they were married. Before that, she had been an actor on All My Children's daytime soap drama in the role of Louisa Sanchez, the Latina common law spouse of Mitch Beck (Brian Fitzpatrick) who was threatening to put his relationship at risk with Hillary Martin. The film was awarded a Golden Globe Award nomination and an Los Angeles Film Critics Association New Generation Award. The Cannes Film Festival's prestigious Grand Prize (the Palme d'Or) was presented to the film. The film was a huge success that grossed $178 million. In the Stephen King TV miniseries The Stand, she played Nadine Cross, who was portrayed by Rob Lowe. They were featured on the front cover of TV Guide's May 7-13, 1994 issue. She continued to make films, even when she was completing her 1999 film.
