Fawn Mckay
Fawn MCK Brodie was born on September 15th, 1915 in Ogden Utah. Born into the Mormon Church's first family Fawn McKay was able to direct her innovative literary talents and remarkable research skills to creating an outstanding psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945, entitled The Only Man is able to know My History. The title is derived from an 1844 funeral sermon by Joseph Smith, the Church of Latter-Day Saints' founder. My story is not known to anybody. It's impossible for me to reveal it. Fawn aged 29 was a writer. Fawn is taking on the mantle of writing from that point on. Some have deified and abused the man, and others have tried to pinpoint the problem. It isn't that there aren't enough documents but they're rather contradictory. It's a daunting task to put together these documents and separate first-hand stories from the third-hand versions and then combining Mormon accounts with those of non-Mormon people to form a cohesive collage. This is fascinating as well as an eye-opener. This is the kind of task to which Fawn Brodie put her professional energy into. Thaddeus S. Stevens became immortalized through her writing and by the results of her study. The Devil Drives (1959) Scourge Of The South Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon, An Intimate history (1974) Posthumous.
