Fawn McCay Brodie was was born in Ogden Utah September 15, 1915. Fawn, a member of the Mormon Church's oldest family, merged her writing expertise and impressive research skills to create a stunning biography of Joseph Smith. No Man knew My History appeared in 1945. The title came from a funeral speech delivered by the founding father of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844 when he startled those he addressed with the words"You don't know me" I never told you about my heart. My history is unknown to anybody. Nobody knows my story. Fawn, a 29-year-old woman has written: "Since that moment of candor, at least three writers have picked up the challenge." Some have rebuked him, while others have deified. A few have even made a diagnosis. Not that the documents are missing, it's the fact that they're contradictory. It is a matter of separating personal testimony from third party fraud and then blending Mormon and non-Mormon narratives into a coherent history. This is exciting and also instructive.
